selfem Vaginal Health Check Tool
(Japanese name: selfem Delicate Zone Check Tool)

Developed under gynecologist supervision in Japan, the selfem Vaginal Health Check Tool is a simple, reliable, and privacy-conscious at-home test kit that helps women understand their intimate health with confidence.

Vaginal discharge can be an early indicator of imbalance in the vaginal flora (microbiota). When this balance is disrupted, it may lead to discomfort, inflammation, bacterial infections, or even affect fertility. During pregnancy, such imbalances may increase the risk of preterm birth or miscarriage.

In about five minutes, this kit allows you to measure your vaginal pH level using a sterile cotton swab. After collecting a small sample, simply press the swab onto the test sheet for three seconds, compare the color change with the reference chart, and combine the result with a short self-check. The kit provides six possible outcomes, indicating whether your condition appears normal or if there are signs of potential vaginitis that may require medical attention.

The result sheet also explains what might happen if an imbalance is left untreated, and offers guidance on how to care for your vaginal health based on your results.

With no need to send samples, and made with trusted Japanese quality, selfem helps women detect early changes, make informed decisions, and take care of their reproductive health — all from the privacy of their own home.

  2. Check that the tip of the swab is properly moistened. Press the moistened part firmly onto the red reagent area of the test sheet for about 3 seconds.

  3. Observe the color change and compare it with the pH reference chart on the swab package to determine your vaginal pH level.

The kit can help you check for six possible conditions:

  1. Normal condition

  2. Vaginal flora imbalance

  3. Contact dermatitis

  4. Bacterial vaginosis

  5. Candidiasis (yeast infection)
