These luxury sneakers were born from the craftsmanship of Kyoto's Nishijin weaving and the artisans of Asakusa in Tokyo. The upper uses Nishijin-ori, a traditional Kyoto textile craft, and every pair is carefully made by skilled Asakusa craftsmen. Traditional Kumihimo Braided Laces
The shoelaces use "kumihimo," the traditional Japanese braided cord used to tie kimono obi sashes. The elasticity unique to kumihimo gives a gentle fit around the foot while helping keep the knot from working loose.
