Shiina Kiriko Fireworks Series - Japanese Cut Glass Sake Cup
The Shiina Kiriko Fireworks series is a handmade Japanese cut glass (kiriko) sake cup. Pour sake into it and the pattern engraved on the base is reflected on the sides, so fireworks appear to open up inside the glass. Each piece comes in a paulownia wood gift box.
Fireworks That Bloom Inside the Glass
This is a glass unique to Shiina Kiriko: when you pour sake into it, the pattern engraved on the bottom of the glass is reflected on the sides, spreading out like fireworks. It uses a double-layered overlay glass with a light blue base covered in purple, with launched fireworks engraved on the sides, expressing the way fireworks are mirrored on the surface of the water. The glass is a custom-made version of the colored overlay glass often used in Edo Kiriko cut glass.
Three Sizes for Sake and the Table
- Guinomi size - the ideal small cup for drinking sake.
- Large size - a versatile size for everyday use.
- Kataguchi (lipped bowl) size - serve sake from it or use it as tableware alongside a dish.
Gift Packaging
Each piece is delivered wrapped in its own paulownia wood box, and an original paper bag popular for gift-giving is included.
About Handmade Glass
Because each piece is handmade by artisans, small air bubbles or striations may occur inside the glass. Please understand this in advance.
