Description

Previously available only in stores in Japan, we want you to enjoy the delicious flavor of our piping hot kama-age warabimochi, even overseas! With this desire in mind, we wholeheartedly pack these hot mochi (rice cakes) in cup containers.

It can be stored for a long time with a surprisingly long shelf life of 210 days. We have thoroughly designed and improved our product so that you may enjoy it in the comfort of home. Anyone can easily make piping hot mochi at home, reproducing our authentic in-shop taste.

Each cup container is cute and compact, just about the size of your palm. It is just the right size to enjoy by yourself at home, and it also makes for a great souvenir, present, or simple gift for friends and family.

We use kinako (soybean flour) that is carefully deep-roasted from Japanese soybeans. We have specially designed a kinako recipe that enhances the flavor of the mochi, making it very flavorful and delicious.

To eat, warm the container with the warabimochi in hot water for 2 minutes. Alternatively, if using a microwave oven, open the lid of the container and warm it at 500W for 1 minute only.

Be careful not to overheat. When the warabimochi has been warmed up, transfer it to another dish, stir a few times, and pour the kuromitsu (sugar syrup) and kinako over the mochi before serving. The more your stir, the stickier and more delicious the mochi will be. Ingredients: Sugar (manufactured in Japan), warabimochi/processed starch, trehalose, glycine, caramel color, preservative (polylysine)

[Additional items] kuromitsu (brown sugar (from Thailand), sugar, glucose syrup), kinako (soybeans *not genetically modified)

Contents: 130g Warabimochi rice cake [Additional items] 10g kuromitsu brown sugar, 5g kinako soybean flour

Shelf life: 210 days including shipping date *Please consume immediately after opening.

This product is popular among foreigners, and we have received requests such as "I wish I could enjoy this taste back at home," "I want to let my friends taste this," "I'd like to give this to my friends as a souvenir," etc. As such, we have made the "Kama-age Warabimochi Souvenir Pack."

The mochi has been thoroughly developed to match the softness and truly delicious taste of hot, freshly-made warabimochi that can be eaten at home.

About Ohtanido

We are a company that manufactures and sells products with particular focus on our raw materials. We have been faced with the question, "Why is the wholesale price of honwarabi flour so high?" We have talked with flour wholesalers, flour millers, and producers of honwarabi flour, and found that the number of domestic producers of honwarabi flour has been decreasing.

In 2016, we rented about 3,000 tsubo (roughly 2.5 acres) of farmland in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and with the help of our employees and heavy machinery, cleared and cultivated a warabi (bracken) field, milled our own flour, and made our own warabimochi from the flour. We are working hard in Kawasaki, Japan, to make these warabimochi so that they can be enjoyed overseas, anywhere in the world.
