A capeline is a wide-brimmed women's hat. Long-brimmed hats are fashionable in their own right, but when combined with a soft and cool top carefully knitted by hand and a glossy woven brim, the contrast of materials makes the hat unique and spectacular.

Features

Sasawashi is a natural Japanese paper yarn made from Kumasasa bamboo, which has been used for medicinal purposes since ancient times and grows only at altitudes of 1,000 meters or more. Kumasasa bamboo, which has long been used in medicine, has natural antibacterial and deodorant properties, and this yarn is also treated to block UV rays and repel water, making it a perfect material for hats. The slightly thin, untwisted Japanese paper yarn is carefully knitted by hand, making it soft and cool to wear.
The brim is made of cotton-nylon gabardine, a unique fabric that is taut, strong, and resistant to friction, yet still has a wrinkled and lived-in feel.
The hat can easily be folded up and stowed in your bag when you are out of doors, and is a great accompaniment to travel.

Our Story

Straw hats are often used by people during the hot seasons and regions. They are cool and easy to wear, but are rigid and cannot be folded. If there is a gap between the brim and face, it can be lacking as sun protection, and many designs come across as childish. We were looking for something cooler and more elegant in terms of the material used, and we came across Japanese sasawashi yarn. There are hats on the market that are woven with this bamboo grass and Japanese paper yarn, but their protection against sunburn on the brim area is still lacking. We decided to combine this type of hat with a woven material featuring a UV-blocking core between the brim, the result of which is a hat that is not only functional, but also unique and fashionable.
It can even be washed by hand, so you'll always feel fresh and clean using it.

Notes

Simply wipe the inside with a lightly wrung cloth and let it dry to enjoy a comfortable wear. This item can be cleaned at home by hand by washing periodically. However, due to the characteristics of the material, the antibacterial, anti-odor, UV-blocking, and water-repellent effects will fade with age. The wire in the brim makes it easy to fold, but note that if you constantly fold it in one place, the wire may in rare cases break due to strain.
