Descripción

This uniquely crafted apron blends Japanese tradition with iconic British rock heritage – a one-of-a-kind collaboration between The Beatles and authentic Japanese indigo craftsmanship.

The fabric used for this apron comes from Bushu, an area once known by this name during Japan’s Edo to Meiji periods. Located in present-day Saitama Prefecture, this region has long been ideal for growing cotton and indigo plants. These natural resources led to the development of a rich textile tradition, especially for producing kendo uniforms – known for their durability, density, and deep blue color.

The apron is made using a rare and labor-intensive dyeing method called "kase-zome", where the yarn is dyed in bundles. This traditional method involves repeatedly soaking, squeezing, and loosening the threads, a process that takes about three months from start to finish. While time-consuming, it ensures the fabric has a deep, vibrant indigo hue and a soft, human touch that mass production simply can't replicate.

This material is part of what’s known as "Bushu Aizome" – Japan’s only surviving production area dedicated to traditional kendo fabric. The apron is a proud continuation of this legacy.

Combining traditional Japanese craftsmanship with the modern spirit of The Beatles, this apron is more than a garment – it's a cultural conversation piece.
