Descrizione
Build one of the most successful and widely produced cruiser classes of World War II with this detailed 1/700 scale model kit of the USS Cleveland (CL-55), the lead ship of the famous Cleveland-class light cruisers.
The Cleveland-class became the most numerous cruiser class built during World War II, with a total of 27 ships completed. Developed as an improved version of the earlier Brooklyn-class cruisers, USS Cleveland was commissioned in June 1942 and featured a more compact superstructure along with significantly enhanced anti-aircraft armament.
The class was divided into early and late production groups. The early ships, including USS Cleveland, featured a distinctive rounded bridge front that set them apart from later vessels.
Following commissioning, USS Cleveland was immediately assigned to operations in the Pacific Theater. The ship participated in numerous combat operations, including engagements against Imperial Japanese Navy destroyers and support missions during major amphibious landings throughout the Pacific War.
This model kit allows builders to recreate either a waterline display or a full hull presentation and includes newly designed parts and decals for multiple early-production Cleveland-class cruisers.
