Founded by someone who herself struggled with sensitive skin, the skincare brand "olio" was established to create products you can truly use every day with peace of mind. New Value for an Unused Resource: Tea Seeds
Shizuoka Prefecture, one of Japan's leading tea regions, faces an aging workforce and a lack of successors in its tea plantations, and tea seeds have largely been treated as an unused resource. Olio uses carefully harvested tea seeds as the base of this oil. The initiative helps preserve tea plantations, support local farmers and create work at welfare facilities, making daily skincare part of a sustainable local cycle.
Cold-Pressed Tea Seed Oil Blended with Jojoba
The oil is carefully extracted from Shizuoka tea seeds by cold pressing, without heat. Jojoba oil, which absorbs easily into the skin, is blended in a unique balance for a light texture and smooth spreadability that suits face, body and hair.
How to Use This Japanese Multi-Use Oil
- Morning and night skincare: apply a few drops at the end of your routine, or add 1-2 drops to your toner. Light and non-greasy, this unisex oil suits both women's and men's daily care.
- Scalp massage: on dry scalp and hair before shampooing, take 5-8 drops on your fingertips and massage into the scalp, then shampoo as usual and rinse well. It moisturizes the scalp, helps reduce flaking and itchiness, and lifts sebum that shampoo alone cannot remove.
- Before blow-drying and for styling: apply to the ends of towel-dried hair to protect it from heat and friction for shiny, manageable hair. A small amount combed through dry hair prevents dryness during the day and adds natural shine.
- After-bath massage: warm a little oil in your palms and massage the whole body, especially tired legs and the decollete, which are prone to UV and dryness damage.
Natural Essential Oil Fragrance
No synthetic fragrance is used; the scent comes only from natural essential oils, making daily skincare a relaxing moment. The essential oils blended vary by fragrance type.
Black Bottle to Protect Quality
To protect the quality of the unrefined oil, a highly light-blocking black bottle is used, with a dropper for hygienic dispensing of just the amount you need. Do not let the dropper tip touch the skin directly; dispense the oil into your palm before use.
