Our Story
Jomon period pottery was traditionally fired using the "noyaki" (field burning) method. The pottery is set atop the embers of an open flame, heated without additional wood for a period, before the fire is slowly intensified. This ensures the flame envelops the pottery uniformly. Made from local Taura clay, the flames endow the pottery with a distinctive texture and hue—both simple yet captivating, evoking the essence of the Jomon era.
