Enchanting Basque Cheesecake
This Basque cheesecake was created to suit the Japanese palate and is based on a recipe from a noted bar in the Basque region of Spain.
The outside is baked at high temperature for a short period of time before being crisped on the outside, and the inside is moist. It is made with three kinds of cheese and cream, with no flour used.
- Made with stringently selected ingredients
One day, his daughter, who is a pastry chef, made a delicious no-bake cheesecake for him. At the same time, quite by coincidence, he was given a recipe for an authentic Basque cheesecake from a famous old bar in the Basque region of Spain, so he baked a Basque cheesecake based on the recipe. This led him to research cheesecake making in order to create an even more delicious version.
"I know I can improve on this!!"
He wanted to bake the best basque cake in the world!
From there, the chef's days of trials and tribulations began.
He studied different types of cheeses, their regions of origin, and the characteristics of their climate and soil, like one would with wine. He ordered cheeses from regions around the world, including Japan, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, and Northern Europe, and sampled several brands of each cheese in order to create the most delicious cake. The name of the store, ""Cheesecake Labo HEUREUSE,"" is thus the result of considerable research.
In addition, HEUREUSE's cheesecake was selected to be sold at the Tokyo Mitsukoshi Nihombashi main store, the first department store in Japan and one the most historic in the country, and its black bamboo charcoal no-bake cheesecake is a centerpiece at that store, where celebrities from all over Japan shop.
HEUREUSE continues to bring cheesecakes to the world made by Japanese artisans, and is pursuing the deliciousness of cheese and its potential as a fermented food while mastering and serving the most delicious and delicately-cooked cheesecakes that the world has ever tasted.
We encourage you to give them a try. HEUREUSE Labo is proud to present this cake to its customers.

Our Basque cheesecakes are popular because they are made to suit the Japanese palate, based on a recipe from a famous bar in the Basque region of Spain.
We respect the authentic taste of the Basque region, and we have been pursuing a taste that is even better suited to the Japanese palate. We have worked and repeated the process of bringing it closer to the perfect image over and over again.
The cake is rich, yet has a gentle flavor that melts in the mouth.
This is an exquisite product that transcends the concept of cheesecake.
It is the result of breaking all the rules of ingredients, recipe, manufacturing method, temperature, baking time, and so on. We were able to achieve this by breaking all "common sense".
