Description

We use silicon-rich bamboo that grows in a limited area of the Kamakura region.
Heavy metal countermeasures are important because fast-growing bamboo absorbs a large percentage of minerals from the earth. Therefore, the bamboo used in our food products is carbonized only from the part 1m or more from the root. Carbonization in a special furnace removes impurities from the raw materials, resulting in safe charcoal with an extremely high carbon content, which can be used as a flavorless, odorless charcoal for consumption.
By blending bamboo charcoal with activated coconut shell charcoal, a wide range of adsorption capacity can be achieved when consumed as a food-grade product.

Features

We use food-grade bamboo harvested from the Kamakura area. The bamboo is carbonized in a special furnace to remove impurities from the raw material and produce safe charcoal with an extremely high purity of 96% carbonization. The properties of charcoal vary depending on the type, and this product contains a blend of bamboo charcoal and activated coconut shell charcoal to provide a wide range of adsorption capacity. Charcoal tends to be difficult to mix with water, making it challenging to use in beverages. This product is specially processed with inulin and raffinose to make it easy to dissolve in water. In addition to adding it to food, you can try mixing it with water, tea, beer, or any other beverage of your choice. We also recommend combining charcoal with fermented foods, which pair very well (e.g. fermented soybeans or yogurt). Contents: 13g (approx. just shy of 1 month)
Ingredients: bamboo charcoal (Kamakura), activated coconut shell charcoal, raffinose, inulin.

Our Story

Charcoal products from Sumiyoshi. are intended to make effective use of forest resources such as thinned wood resulting from from woodland and bamboo grove maintenance. Even though this issue calls for periodic care of forests to prevent them falling into disrepair, one of the reasons for the lack of progress on this front is that resources such as thinned wood produced over the course of forest maintenance are seen as low value, because there is no place to use them. We add value to forest assets by manufacturing special charcoal from these resources and developing high value-added products that impart various functionality and the benefits of charcoal. In so doing, we ensure that our business produces a positive environmental feedback loop, where forests and bamboo groves continue to be maintained as more products are brought to market.

Notes

*If you are currently consuming supplements, healthy oils, or other nutrients that you do not want to adsorb into the charcoal, consume at different times.
*If you are taking medication or are pregnant, please consult your doctor before use.

About TOYOUKE

There is a famous shrine called “Ise Jingu” in Ise, Mie Prefecture, Japan.
Ise Jingu has two shrine structures. The outer shrine, which enshrines Toyouke – no – Omikami
and the inner shrine, which enshrines Amaterasu – Omikami.
Oyouke – no – Omikami is the Japanese goddess of the harvest and she serves Amaterasu –
Omikami, the head goddess of the Shinto religion.
We named our company “Toyouke” because we always want to show the same caring and
loyalty to our customers that Toyouke – no Omikami shows to Amaterasu.
