What is a Daruma?
Daruma dolls are traditional Japanese good luck charms believed to help people achieve their goals. When making a wish, you color in the left eye of the Daruma. Once your wish is fulfilled, you fill in the right eye to show gratitude.
About Shirakawa Daruma
This Daruma is made by Shirakawa Daruma Sohonpo, a family-run workshop in Fukushima, Japan, with nearly 300 years of history. The doll was originally created under the guidance of Lord Matsudaira Sadanobu, known for reforms that aimed to improve the lives of ordinary people.
