This dessert set comes from Saryo Sakura-an in Nara, a region known for traditional Japanese confectionery.
Both the white sesame tofu (shiro goma dofu) and black sesame tofu (kuro goma dofu) offer a smooth, pudding-like texture created by blending sesame paste with high-quality Japanese kudzu. The result is a creamy but clean sweetness, with a natural sesame aroma that spreads gently in every bite.
To enjoy it the traditional way, simply drizzle the included brown sugar syrup (kuromitsu) and add a sprinkling of roasted soybean flour (kinako). It transforms into a classic Japanese-style dessert that’s easy to try even for beginners.
