The Astonishing Natural Beauty of Radiolaria

Discover the fascinating world of Radiolaria with this unique deck of playing cards.
Each card features a photograph of these extraordinary microscopic marine organisms, known for their intricate and symmetrical skeletons made of silica (SiO₂).

While this deck can be used as regular playing cards (52 cards + 2 jokers), it also doubles as a visual encyclopedia, allowing you to appreciate the delicate and artistic forms of radiolarians.

The images featured on these cards are based on exceptionally well-preserved fossils from about 140 million years ago, at the boundary between the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Radiolarians are single-celled plankton that lived in the ocean. Because their skeletons have distinctive shapes, they are often used by scientists as “index fossils” to help determine the age of geological layers.

Set Includes:

  • 52 standard playing cards (4 suits × 13 cards)

  • 2 jokers

Card Size: H 9.1 cm × W 6 cm × D 1.7 cm
Material: Paper
