Description
The DIGSTA "Tsurikichi Sanpei" (Fishing Mania Sanpei) Box is a Japanese collectible figure set containing one each of all four types, based on Takao Yaguchi's classic fishing manga and produced in Japan for adult collectors.
About the Manga Tsurikichi Sanpei
Serialized from 1973 (Showa 48), "Tsurikichi Sanpei" not only sparked an unprecedented fishing boom, but also depicted head-on the importance of nature that was being lost to development during Japan's period of rapid economic growth, and the coexistence of people and nature, greatly influencing the children of that era.
Collectible Figure Highlights
These "Tsurikichi Sanpei" figures were brought into three dimensions under the supervision of Kaoru Takahashi, daughter of original author Takao Yaguchi. Based on Yaguchi's own artwork and revived 50 years later with modern production technology, they carry his feelings for the natural environment. The fish figures included reproduce intricate paintwork using inkjet printing, and we hope you will enjoy them close at hand as a display piece that also carries a thought for protecting the environment.
